When cancer isn’t the end

We develop boron-based drugs that make Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) more selective, safer and scalable, for patients with advanced cancers who have run out of options.

Spin-off of the University of Granada and CSIC. Founded in 2023, based in Granada.
Problem

Patients with advanced cancers are out of options and out of time

Most of these patients have exhausted standard treatments: surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Their only option is palliative care.

15–20%of patients respond to immunotherapy. The rest don’t respond or relapse quickly.
250,000+patients a year in the EU and US face aggressive, poor-prognosis cancers with no curative path.
Solution

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)

  1. Patient receiving the boron compound by infusion

    Boron compound

A boron drug (BPA) is administered and reaches the tumour.
  2. Tumour irradiated with neutrons from an accelerator

    Neutron irradiation

The tumour is irradiated with neutrons.
  3. neutron¹⁰B nucleusAlphaparticle⁷Li recoilnucleus

    Cell destruction

The capture reaction releases particles that destroy the tumour cell.
Selective radiotherapy in one day

For advanced cancer patients, survival is measured in months. BNCT offers a targeted treatment in a single day.

Technology

BOROPEPT: precision boron drugs for each cancer type

Current boron carriers (BPA) have limited tumour selectivity, uneven distribution, short retention and no molecular targeting. BOROPEPT, our patented family of boron cluster–peptide conjugates, is designed to select cancer cells and can be adapted to new tumour types.
